Backcountry Camping

Backcountry camping available at Meadow Lake and Narrow Hills Provincial Parks.

Park Entry Permit

A valid Park Entry Permit is required in all Saskatchewan Provincial Parks.

If you are a Saskatchewan resident 65 or older (or turning 65 years of age anytime during the current year) and provide valid Saskatchewan identification:

  • You can receive a free park entry permit into a provincial park.
  • You can claim one free annual park entry permit if you have a seasonal campsite reservation in a provincial park.

 

Recreation Halls

Small recreation halls available at Good Spirit and The Battlefords Provincial Parks. Large recreation halls available at Greenwater Lake, Duck Mountain, Moose Mountain, and Pike Lake Provincial Parks.

Change and Cancellation Fees

Change and cancellation fees are based on the type of site reserved. These fees are in addition to the reservation fee. Reservation, change and cancellation fees are non-refundable.

Unless otherwise stated, you may change or cancel your reservation by visiting parks.saskatchewan.ca or by calling the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Reservation Call Centre at 1-833-775-7275.

If none of the following conditions apply, Saskatchewan Provincial Parks will apply the relevant transaction/penalty charges if you:

  • Shorten any dates on a reservation.
  • Change arrival date, except to extend a reservation by arriving earlier.
  • Downgrade to a lower-priced site or activity.

 

Backcountry Camping

  • You can only change your backcountry camping reservation by calling the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Reservation Call Centre at 1-833-775-7275.
  • Once a backcountry camping permit is printed, you cannot change or cancel the backcountry permit.
  • If you have not printed your backcountry camping permit, the following change and cancel rules apply:
    • Changes to dates, permit holder name or park made prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
    • Shortening your stay or cancelling your permit more than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
    • Shortening your stay or cancelling your permit less than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of camping.

 

Camp-Easy and Mongolian Yurt

  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or Camp-Easy site made prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation less than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of camping.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2:00 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of up to four nights of camping.

 

Equestrian Camping

  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or campsite made prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation less than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of camping.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2:00 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of up to four nights of camping.

 

Group Camping

  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or campsite made prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 30 days prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation 30 days or less prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of group camping.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2:00 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of 4 nights of group camping.

 

Nightly Camping

  • Double sites must be reserved, changed and cancelled together.
  • Changes to dates, permit holder name, park or campsite made prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of scheduled arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation more than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Shortening your stay or cancelling your reservation less than 24 hours prior to 2:00 p.m. CST of arrival will result in the forfeit of two nights of camping.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if the site is not occupied by 2:00 p.m. CST on second day of reservation. No-shows result in the forfeit of up to four nights of camping.

 

Picnic Shelters

  • Changes to dates or permit holder name made prior 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Cancellations completed 30 days or more prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date will incur a $15 cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations completed 8 to 29 days prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date result in the forfeit of 50% of total rental cost.
  • Cancellations completed 7 days or less prior to 8:00 a.m. CST of arrival date result in the forfeit of 75% of total rental cost.
  • You are considered a no-show if the picnic shelter is cancelled after 8:00 a.m. CST on arrival date. No-shows result in 100% of the total rental cost being forfeited.

 

Recreation Halls

  • You can only change your recreation hall reservation by calling the Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Reservation Call Centre at 1-833-775-7275.
  • Changes to dates and times or cancellations made 30 days or more prior to 9:00 a.m. of arrival date will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Changes or cancellations made 30 days or less prior to 9:00 a.m. of arrival date to a recreation hall less than 200 square meters will incur a $50 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Changes or cancellations made 30 days or less prior to 9:00am of arrival date to a recreation hall more than 200 square meters will incur a $100 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if recreation hall is not occupied for the reservation period. No-shows result in the forfeit of 100% of the recreation hall rate.

 

Seasonal Camping

  • Changes to site can only be made prior to 11:59 p.m. CST Wednesday before Victoria Day. Changes will incur a $15 change fee.
  • Cancelling prior to 11:59 p.m. CST Wednesday before Victoria Day will result in 10% of the seasonal rate being forfeited.
  • Cancelling on or after Thursday before Victoria Day will result in 10% of the seasonal rate being forfeited plus the regular nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights occupied regardless if camping unit is onsite.
  • You are considered a no-show and automatically cancelled by the park if site is not occupied by June 24 prior to noon CST. No-shows result in the forfeit of 10% of the seasonal rate plus the regular nightly rate multiplied by the number of nights from Thursday before Victoria Day to June 24.

 

Swimming Lessons

  • Changes to dates, participant names or swimming level or cancellations made before 12:00 p.m. CST on the Friday prior to the first day of swimming lessons will incur a $15 change and/or cancellation fee.
  • Cancellations made after 12:00 p.m. CST of the Friday prior to the first day of swimming lessons will result in the forfeit of all swimming costs.
