Event Description
*Pre-register above by entering any Friday from January 6 - March 3, 2023 by clicking the "Enter Dates" button above. Event will take place at 7 p.m. Pre-registration closes 24 hours prior to the program start time.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Join a Park Interpreter for this guided evening excursion through snow! Learn all the basics of snowshoeing, followed by a guided snowshoe through the park. Glowing lights will guide your way along the valley edge to a scenic lookout point where you will gaze up at the stars and constellations. Witness a shooting star or even the northern lights, then complete your adventure by warming your toes around the campfire.
PROGRAM LOCATION: Meet at the Visitor Centre
This program is designed for all levels of experience in snowshoeing. Snowshoes will be provided, but please wear boots. If there is not enough snow to utilize snowshoes, this program will be offered as a winter hike.
Don't forget to bring your skates - the skating loop is open 8 a.m. - 9 p.m. for you to enjoy before or after the hike!
Please note: If temperatures in the program location are below -26°C with the wind chill, this program will be cancelled. Cancellations will be made 24 hours in advance and all pre-registrants will be notified via email. Visitors are welcome to drop-in to programming if registration is closed, pending equipment availability. Visitors are also welcome to drop-in to all alternative programming in the event this program is cancelled due to inclement weather.
