PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Discover the wild at Echo Valley! With a field guide in hand, snowshoes strapped on, and a handy pair of binoculars around your neck, a Park Interpreter will lead you through the snow-covered trees of Echo Valley in search of critters that have made the park their home. Follow tracks, listen for calls and keep your eyes peeled. Who knows what you will find? Complete your adventure by warming your toes around the campfire and refueling with a warm bite to eat from Echo Ridge! Consider bringing your skates and trying out the skating loop under the lights before going home.
PROGRAM LOCATION: Meet at the Visitor Centre
This program is designed for all levels of experience in snowshoeing. Snowshoes will be provided but please wear boots. If there is not enough snow to utilize snowshoes, this program will be offered as a winter hike.
Please note: If temperatures in the program location are below -26°C with the wind chill, this program will be cancelled and an alternative Porcupine Craft program will be offered in the Visitor Centre. Cancellations will be made 24 hours in advance and all pre-registrants will be notified via email. Visitors are welcome to drop-in to programming if registration is closed, pending equipment availability. Visitors are also welcome to drop-in to all alternative programming in the event this program is cancelled due to inclement weather.
